Catherine

I wrote this for a Middle School English class. And found it tucked away under some notebooks today.

Carefully, Catherine made her way down the rocky path to the water. Blue-green water splashed against the golden sand. She ran across the sand to the waves. Catherine stood silently by the sea. A turquoise wave washed in. Her reflection stared back at her.
She had a soft, white oval face; which was framed by silky sand colored curls. Her eyes were greenish-blue that matched the sea. She had a tiny, turned up nose. A light dusting of freckles covered her nose and cheeks, like little fairy kisses. Soft pink lips curled up in a shy smile. Around her neck she wore her prized strand of real milk, white pearls. She had a soft ivory complexion. A long, white cotton dress showed off her tall, slender figure. It came to her ankles, with a ruffle at the collar and sleeves. In her hands was a brown straw hat. She also carried a basket. It was full of clams. The spume softly licked at her bare feet. She watched with wistful eyes as the wave washed out to sea taking her reflection with it.
